1) Measure the left ventricular diameter during end-diastole and end-systole.

2) The formula is as follows

     LV volume = LV Volume = [7/(2.4 + LVID)] * LVID

   

    The TEICH methods rely on the assumption that the LV is a prolate ellipsoid based on the cubic (CUBE) equation.​ The precision of this method relies on the accuracy of the geometric assumptions regarding the shape of the left ventricle.

3) LVEF = 100* [(Vd-Vs) / Vd]
